The Atlantic Elite Basketball League uses one consistent age rule.
There are no mid-season changes and no alternate interpretations. Please read carefully.
Age Requirements
Official AEBL Age Rule:
A player’s division is determined strictly by their birth year as of January 1, 2026
Age does not change during the season
Birthdays later in 2026 do not affect eligibility
This rule applies to Winter (Oct–Feb) and Spring/Summer (Mar–July) leagues

Examples:
Player born December 31, 2011 → 14U
Player born August 2010 → 16U
Player born December 31, 2018 → 8U
Players do NOT move up divisions because they turn older during the year
